The Year in Books – Fancy yourself in a crowd?

Book blogs and book review aggregators exist because people like being part of a community that shares their interests. This year sevencircumstances had a whopping 11,628 visitors, up from 2,831 in 2016, and 17,243 views, up from 4,894 in 2016. So you who are reading this, feel comforted that you are part of a crowd of people who read what you are reading. To the 46 followers of this eccentric, specialized blog – you know who you are – thanks for being there to remind me to keep up the standards and always stay critical. As Jenny Lawson puts it: by blogging, tweeting, etc., many bloggers, like me, and their followers have “found a way to be alone together.”
