One-minute video review – The Only Story by Julian Barnes

The novel is downbeat and intense, but demonstrates that what matters is love, what keeps people going is love, and that everyone has their own love story. This video was a pleasure to make – I was looking for that 60s and 70s feel – a bit of a “Sad Sunday Afternoon” feel, but still sexy. So the music is “Angel of the Morning” recorded by Ray Conniff And The Singers, released in 1968. That was a favourite of my parents for many years, and of course I can still sing every song on the LP.
